Ever since I was a kid I always looked forward to the end of the day when I’d get to head down to the Pavilion and practice my smooth 2-stepping skills. I’ve actually never been much of a dancer but the excitement of hanging out under the stars was always a treat. In fact, the campers and locals have been getting together down at Garner’s Pavilion for over 50 years; it’s a great tradition you don’t want to miss. The dance starts nightly around sundown and runs until 11:00 pm. If your not a great dancer don’t worry, it’s a great place to learn and there’s plenty of room. The song selection is family friendly with classics from country legends like George Strait and classics you’ll hear almost nowhere else like Blackland Farmer and Smokey Mountain Memories. Don’t forget there’s also a slew of great Garner songs, and the jukebox is always ready for a new request so make it early to hear your’s before the nights end.
